Chief James Dillon has been a member of Manhasset-Lakeville F.D. Company 1 since October 13th, 1976.

Chief Dillon served as Company Secretary before serving as a Company Line Officer, and served as Company 1's Captain from March 1986-1988. He also served as Department President from April 1996-1998. On April 7th, 2005, James A. Dillon was elected 4th Deputy Chief of the M-LFD, and on April 7th, 2011 he was elected Chief of Department.

Over the years, Chief Dillon has chaired many different committees within his company and on a department level. He has been an active member on the Department Training Committee for over 25 years.

Chief Dillon is 20+ year member of the New York City Fire Department, and is currently serving as a Lieutenant in Queens. Chief Dillon has also been serving as a 2nd Deputy Chief Instructor at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy since 2009.

Deputy Chief Dillon is married with two children, and would not be able to serve as he does now without the total support of his family.
