Deputy Chief Michael Uttaro is a 17-year member of M-LFD Company #5. He rose through the ranks as a Company officer, serving as Lieutenant from 1994-1998 and as Captain from 1998-2000.

He served as Chairman of the M-LFD New Fleet Dedication Committee and organized a department-wide wetdown celebration that was held in the fall of 2000. Mike was elected to the position of 4th Deputy Chief of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department in April 2001.

Deputy Chief Uttaro works full-time at the Nassau County Fire Marshals office and is also a NYS Certified Emergency Medical Technician.

Mike and his wife Doreen have two beautiful daughters.
