Deputy Chief Michael Farrone has been a member of Manhasset-Lakeville F.D. Company 5 since September 12th, 1985.

Deputy Chief Farrone was elected 2nd Lieutenant of Company 5 in March 1987, and rose through the ranks and served as Captain from 1996-1998.  He served as Captain a second time from March 2003-2006.  On April 8th, 2010, Mike was elected 4th Deputy Chief of the M-LFD.

Deputy Chief Farrone has always been an active member of the M-LFD and currently serves as the Chairman for both Fire Prevention and Department Radio.  He has been an EMT-CC since 1989 and a New York State Hazardous Materials Technician since 1999.

Deputy Chief Farrone has been a Police Officer with the New York City Police Department for twenty years, and currently serves as a Sergeant in Manhattan.

Deputy Chief Farrone has been married to his wife Mary for almost twenty years, and has two daughters; Carly and Shelby.

One of Deputy Chief Farrone’s two proudest days in the fire service was when he was named the New York State Firefighter of The Year in 2005, and the other was when his daughter Carly became a member of M-LFD Company 5 in early 2010.
