About Our Dispatching:

The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department is dispatched by the full-time dispatchers of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District. Emergency calls are received by a dispatcher, who then dispatches the appropiate Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department Companies to respond based on the type of emergency.

Calling 9-1-1 is a good way to request emergency assistance, however, in order to provide the fastest response to the community, the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department asks that the residents of our community dial (516) 466-4411 and speak to one of our own dispatchers.

Phone stickers with our dispatch phone number are available at each of our firehouses.

How M-LFD Members Receive Notification of Calls:

• A resident of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District calls (516) 466-4411 and reaches a Manhasset-Lakeville Fire District dispatcher and notifies them of a fire or medical emergency.
  
  
• The dispatcher inputs the given information into the computer system and selects which fire company, companies, and/or ambulances will respond to the call.
  
  
• Members of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department receive notification of emergencies over their voice pagers, like the one pictured to the right. The dispatcher activates the appropriate members pagers using different "tones".
  
  
• Members of the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department respond in their personal vehicles to their respective firehouses and answer the call of the community. A flashing blue light on a vehicle indicates that a volunteer firefighter or EMT is responding to an emergency.
