Westbound LIE East of Lakeville Road

M-LFD Company #5, Heavy Rescue 8730 & Ambulance Unit

 

Just after 0200 hours on Sunday, December 17th, 2006, M-LFD Company #5, the Ambulance Unit and Heavy Rescue 8730 were toned out to a reported rollover with entrapment on the Westbound Long Island Expressway just East of Lakeville Road. Deputy Chiefs Uttaro (8705) and Dugger (8703) were Signal 21F and upon their arrival requested a forthwith on the hurst tool, confirming a rollover with two aided, one heavily pinned inside of the vehicle. R8757, A8769, A8767, HR8730 and E8758 all responded within a few minutes of receiving the alarm.

The crew of R8757 worked on the vehicle with multiple NCPD ESU units, while the crews of A8769, A8767 and NCPD EMS stabilized the trapped occupant. Extrication took roughly 25 minutes due to the nature of the rollover. The occupant was freed and transported in serious condition to NSUH by A2356.
