At approximately
2200 hours on Friday, December 29th, M-LFD Company #4,
Heavy Rescue 8730 and the Ambulance Unit were alerted
to a motor vehicle accident with aided in front of 555
Northern Boulevard (Leonard's of Great Neck).
Chief of Department O’Mally (8702), along with
Deputy Chiefs Uttaro (8705) and Dillon (8701), responded
immediately and were advised by Great Neck Vigilant dispatch
that NCPD was on the scene requesting a forthwith response
from the fire department for a serious motor vehicle accident.
E8740, HR8730, E8725, TL8744, A8769, A8767 and FC8799
all responded within minutes of receiving the call. Once
on scene, units found a high speed “t-bone”
motor vehicle accident with no entrapment in any of the
vehicles and four aided. Fire units handled a large spill
in the roadway while NCPD Ambulances 2356, 2366 and M-LFD
Ambulance 8767 packaged and transported the aided, one
in serious condition, to North Shore University Hospital.
After clearing from this call, the M-LFD handled multiple
runs including an automatic alarm in Zone 2, another motor
vehicle accident with aided at Searingtown Road and the
North LIE Service Road, and two Signal 9A’s.
