At
roughly 2020 hours on Thursday, January 18th, 2007, the
M-LFD Companies 3, 5 and the Ambulance Unit were toned
out for a reported overturned automobile on the Long Island
Expressway South Service Road at Searingtown Road.
Chief of Department O’Malley (8702) and Deputy
Chiefs Uttaro (8705) and Dugger (8703), as well as Rescue
8757 and Heavy Rescue 8730 were on the road within two
minutes of receiving the alarm. Engines 8735 and 8758
also responded for additional resources along with Ambulance
8769 and the first response vehicle 8799.
Upon the arrival of first due units, an SUV was found
lying on its side with one occupant trapped. The crews
of R8757 and HR8730 quickly extricated the patient who
was transported by NCPD Ambulance 2356 to North Shore
University Hospital in Manhasset. A8769 also transported
one minor aided as well. All units were up within thirty
minutes. |
