On Sunday, February
11th, 2007, at around 1230 hours, Manhasset-Lakeville
Companies 3, 5 and the Ambulance Unit were toned out for
a reported motor vehicle accident with overturn at Marcus
Avenue and the entrance to the Northern State Parkway.
Deputy Chief Pitzer (8704) was the first unit on the
road and was advised of an overturned SUV at the entrance
ramp on Marcus Avenue. Engine 8735 and 8733 were the first
pieces of apparatus to respond, followed by Rescue 8757,
Deputy Chief Uttaro (8705) and Dillon (8701), as well
as Ambulance 8769 and EMS Fly Car 8799.
Upon the arrival of M-LFD units, one vehicle was found
laying on its side with negative entrapment. The occupants
of the vehicle had self-extricated through the sunroof
with minor injuries. One occupant was transported to North
Shore University Hospital in Manhasset by A8769.
All fire units were released from the scene within fifteen
minutes. Lake Success PD and Nassau County PD Highway
units were also on scene.
