On
Saturday, March 17th, 2007 at roughly 0845 hours, M-LFD
Company #5, the Ambulance Unit and Heavy Rescue 8730 were
alerted to a reported motor vehicle accident with rollover
on the Long Island Expressway South Service Road, East
of New Hyde Park Road.
Ambulances 8767, 8769 and Fly Car 8799 were the first
units to respond after they were returning from a previous
motor vehicle accident. Chief of Department O'Malley (8702),
Deputy Chiefs Uttaro (8705) and Pitzer (8704), Rescue
8757, Heavy Rescue 8730 and Engine 8758 also responded
to the alarm. Fly Car 8799 was the first unit to arrive
on the scene and advised all units of one car that had
left the roadway and was up on the guardrail of the service
road. The occupant had self-extricated from the vehicle
prior to FD arrival, and all units were placed on a Signal
12 response.
A8767 transported the aided to North Shore University
Hospital and all remaining units were up within ten minutes. |
