On
Tuesday, March 20th, 2007 at around 0615 hours, M-LFD
Company #5, Heavy Rescue 8730 and the Ambulance Unit were
toned out to the Eastbound Long Island Expressway on-ramp
at Shelter Rock Road for a reported overturned tractor
trailer.
Deputy Chiefs Uttaro (8705) and Dugger (8703) were the
first units to arrive on the scene, and placed the Ambulance
Unit on a Signal 13, since the driver had self-extricated
without any injuries. The crew of Rescue 8757 applied
speedy dry to the roadway involved and made a dyke to
prevent the fuel spillage from the over truck from getting
into the water system.
All fire units were released from the scene within forty
five minutes, with the exception of DC8705, who waited
on the scene for Nassau County HazMat to arrive. |
