On Wednesday,
June 14th, 2006 at approximately 1500 hours, M-LFD Companies
#4 and 5 were toned out to a reported kitchen fire at
a residence in Zone 5. Deputy Chief Dugger (DC8703) was
the first unit to respond to the call and was advised
by Great Neck Vigilant dispatch that Lake Success PD was
on the scene reporting a working fire and that all occupants
had been removed from the residence.
Upon his arrival, DC8703 transmitted a Signal 10 for
a working house fire. First due units, including Ladder
8743 and Engine 8725, located large amounts of heavy fire
that had originated in the kitchen of the residence and
traveled into the cockloft and attic areas of the house.
During the incident, all six M-LFD Companies were called
to the scene along with units from the Great Neck Vigilant
Fire Company and the New Hyde Park Fire Department. Coverage
at the M-LFD fire houses were provided by the Port Washington
Fire Department at Company #1, and the Garden City Park
and Williston Park Fire Departments at Company #5. All
Manhasset-Lakeville units cleared the scene at approximately
1815 hours. |
