On Sunday, April
29th, 2007 the M-LFD Ambulance Unit, along with Companies
1 and 3 held a joint training exercise on confined space
rescues. The training simulated a patient trapped
in a ditch along side a building. The members of
Company #1, with assistance from Company #3, setup their
tripod and proceeded to lower Ambulance Unit 2nd Lt. Lee
Genser into the ditch, while Ambulance Unit Ex-Captain
Levine and EMT Kakurieve used a ladder to get into the
ditch. Once the patient was successfully removed,
Company #1 showed the trainees what to do in the case
that a rescuer became incapacitated while in the ditch. |
