American Legion Awards

On Wednesday, March 2, 2016, the American Legion Post 304 of Manhasset held their annual awards night for local first responders. This year, Firefighter Charles "Chuck" Karen of Company #2 was posthumously given the award of Firefighter of the Year in recognition of his years of dedicated service to the community. Firefighter Karen succumbed to 9/11 related cancer from his work as an NYPD Officer in November, 2015.

M-LFD Ambulance Unit EMT-CC Joseph Toole was honored as the EMT of the Year. Joe is currently serving as president of the Ambulance Unit and is attending medical school.
